Medina Cafe, 556 Beatty Street in Crosstown Vancouver. Unique food & amazing service!
I was privileged to get a seat in the Medina Cafe this morning with my Girlfriend. On a typical drive by of 556 Beatty Street there is what looks like a small huddle going on out side of the front door. This is the group of patiently waiting die-hard customers wanting to fill this small, warm room with extremely polite & professional staff & amazingly unique food. To give you an idea of our selection for this mornings brunch meal we had:
$15 | Fricassé (served all day) |
2 fried eggs, braised short ribs, roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, arugula, applewood cheddar. Grilled foccacia. |
$14 |
Oeufs Cocottes |
Baked eggs, smoked sockey salmon, artichoke, cream cheese.Tomato pepperdew dill salad. Grilled foccacia. |
Latte
Lavender,
1X 12oz. $3.95 & 1X 16oz. $4.30
Medina has a great Heritage feel in the room by way of a huge exposed brick feature wall & exposed cedar beams lining the roof. This is part of the attraction I believe, being on Beatty street & all. This street is very well known in Downtown Vancouver for having its street lined with extremely sought after & high end heritage converted Loft buildings, the likes of Bowman Lofts, 540 Beatty, 518 Beatty 550 Beatty & more.
Medina is a fantastic place to relax in a tightly packed well appointed room for a great meal & the ever so wonderful 16oz Lavender Latte. I had never had this before visiting the Medina cafe for the first time about 9 months ago. I highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting something a little different while visiting Crosstown Vancouver.
